Aunty Choo's Jawa Mee

The passion for food runs in the family! growing up I was always told not to skim on food, and encouraged to eat as much as I liked. My dear aunt decided to have a go at making Jawa Mee last night. I'm glad she thought of me, when it came to off loading some extras. Here is what Frank and I had for lunch today!

It has been almost 3 years since I had Jawa Mee. Oh boy did it hit the spot!

**Jawa Mee - Penang Nyonya-inspired noodle soup. Despite its name, Jawa Mee has its origin in the Peranakan kitchen far and away from Jawa. The type of Jawa Mee sold by hawkers has the noodle swimming in a transparent tomato-based gravy. It is topped with boiled eggs, boiled potatoes, one or two prawns, fritters, slices of beancurd, a sprinkling of fried grounded peanuts, and chilli paste to taste.
